Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Loop, a product operated by The Boat (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using Loop you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Loop.
1. The service
Loop lets you combine your video with a music preview, choose a loop region, render a short clip in your browser, and optionally upload that clip to YouTube using your Google account. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. If you use Loop on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Your account & Google / YouTube
Publishing requires authenticating with Google and granting Loop permission to use YouTube API Services. Your use of YouTube through Loop is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your Google/YouTube account.
4. Your content & rights
- You retain ownership of video, audio, and other content you provide (“Your Content”).
- You grant us a limited license to process Your Content on your device and transmit it to YouTube solely to provide the features you request.
- You represent that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed for Your Content and for any upload to YouTube, including music rights, publicity rights, and compliance with YouTube policies.
- You must not upload content that infringes others’ rights, violates law, or violates YouTube/Google policies (including spam, malware, or prohibited subject matter).
5. Music previews & third-party content
Track search and short audio previews may come from third-party services (for example Apple iTunes Search / preview URLs). Those materials are provided for selection and timing inside Loop and remain subject to the third party’s terms. Publishing a finished video does not grant you additional rights in underlying commercial music. You are solely responsible for clearing rights for any public distribution on YouTube or elsewhere.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse Loop, attempt to disrupt it, or probe it for unauthorized access;
- Reverse engineer the service except where permitted by law;
- Use Loop to violate copyright, trademark, privacy, or other laws;
- Automate abuse of Google/YouTube APIs or exceed reasonable use;
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us or publishing.
7. Intellectual property
Loop’s branding, interface, and software (excluding Your Content and third-party materials) are owned by The Boat or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information, including Google user data under the Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use).
9. Disclaimers
Loop is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that renders will be perfect, that uploads will succeed, that YouTube will accept or recommend your video, or that Loop will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Boat and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of Loop. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to Loop will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for Loop in the 12 months before the claim (if any) or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify The Boat and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your uploads to YouTube, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
12. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or stop providing Loop at any time. You may stop using Loop at any time and may revoke Google access in your Google Account settings. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive termination.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using Loop.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence require otherwise. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to those mandatory protections.
